Doctreen Spark user testimonial — Dr Mickaël Dahan, radiologist

News

Could you introduce yourself and describe your day-to-day practice?

Dr Dahan: My practice is fairly conventional: plain radiography, CT, with quite a lot of teleradiology. We also have high volumes in certain activities.

What role does report writing play in your work?

Dr Dahan: Dictation now takes up a significant part of our work. With voice dictation, more of the structuring and formatting of the report falls on the radiologist. These are important elements for colleagues and patients, even if they are not the core of medical work.

What took up the most time in this reporting work?

Dr Dahan: Dictating is part of our job. However, proofreading, correcting and layout take a lot of time, particularly for complex reports, for example in oncology, with many measurements and comparisons to include so that the document is clear and consistent.

How did you write your reports before using Doctreen Spark?

Dr Dahan: I used standard speech recognition tools, then did the layout myself, mainly “with the mouse”. For complex reports, this took a significant amount of time.

What made you want to try Doctreen Spark?

Dr Dahan: I was looking for an AI-based solution that could genuinely simplify report writing. The idea was to go beyond simple structuring, to make the whole process smoother.

What struck you most during your first uses?

Dr Dahan: It is not a tool you use on autopilot. You need to understand how to make the most of it for it to bring real benefit. Once you have grasped that logic, using it becomes natural.

What concrete benefits have you observed in your practice?

Dr Dahan: The time saving is real, but above all, the organisation of work becomes smoother. Layout and adjustments to the report are greatly simplified. The time freed up can then be devoted to analysing exams, to advanced imaging, or to looking more deeply into cases, with more continuity in the work.

In your view, what role does AI play in your practice with Spark?

Dr Dahan: AI is particularly relevant for everything to do with structuring and formatting the report. When it is well trained, it is more efficient than we are in these areas. This lets the radiologist focus on the medical analysis, without becoming a layout expert.

Have you had feedback from your colleagues on using Spark?

Dr Dahan: Yes, several colleagues have started using it. Once you master the tool, you can see that it changes the way you work every day for the better.

Would you recommend Doctreen Spark to other colleagues?

Dr Dahan: Yes. Once the report has been dictated, most of the work is done. It makes working smoother and more comfortable, with more time devoted to the exam itself.

In one sentence, how would you sum up your experience with Doctreen Spark?

Dr Dahan: “Thank you for thinking of it.”
